Is your restaurant website a hit or a miss?

In a recent post on the Guardian Word Of Mouth blog the current state of affairs with regards to restaurant websites is discussed:

“Restaurants’ online presences are famously hit or miss affairs. Who gets it, who doesn’t, and how much does it matter?”
- Restaurant websites: casting the net

It is a post well worth reading, packed with great examples of “dos” and “don’ts”.

They also link to several great resources for more information, among them the special feature on online marketing we did with Restaurant Magazine a while back. Download the 32 page online marketing supplement from the Livebookings website.

Building and continually maintaining a professionally built website is a crucial foundation for any online marketing strategy. If you spend time and money building relationships with other websites and your diners, trying to bring more traffic to the website of your restaurant, if it isn’t up to scratch your certainly not getting the most out of your investment.

Incidentally we are running one of our Livebookings Academies in Manchester tomorrow, where the main topic is optimising your website for online sales. The event is free, and if you are in the area I am sure we can find another chair!

If you can’t make it, the presentation titled “Your website as a sales machine” is available as a PDF, drop me an email if you want it sent to you.

Check back at the Livebookings News & Events page for upcoming Livebookings Academies.
